Now Accepting New Clients!
As a counselor, Emily believes that healing happens in the context of relationships. Emily’s desire is to walk with her clients in a collaborative relationship in order to pursue growth using a biblical framework and clinical approach. She is particularly focused on an attachment-based, emotion-focused approach while also pulling from various other counseling theories when necessary in order to tailor therapy to the specific needs of the client.
Emily was born and raised in Knoxville, TN and discovered that she was called to pursue a life in the helping profession through her experience working in youth and college ministry. Emily went to undergrad at The University of Tennessee and recently graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando with her Masters in Counseling. In graduate school, she learned through experience that she is passionate about women’s issues such as eating disorders, body image, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, and other difficulties that women experience. As a certified Prepare and Enrich facilitator, Emily is also passionate about pre-marital counseling, couples counseling, and pursuing healing and health in marital relationships.
Emily aims to create space for her clients to feel safe, encouraged, challenged, and free to work toward holistic healing. Through her own experience in counseling and in counseling others, Emily believes that our struggles are the very things that lead us to restoration and wholeness. Emily views her role as a counselor as a privilege and would be honored to walk with you in your journey.
Emily enjoys exploring local food spots in Orlando with her husband Kevin as well as listening to live music, biking around the city, spending time deep in a book, and cooking for her loved ones.
