Addiction Counseling

Alcohol and drug abuse and dependence are complex issues. Addictions and dependence have the ability to wreak havoc on the lives of not only those with the disease but those around them as well. And too often it goes untreated.

If your drug or alcohol use is impacting your life or the life of your family, it may be time to seek addiction counseling help. Making the choice to seek treatment, whether inpatient or outpatient, can be a frightening one. However research has shown that effective treatment can help people stop using, avoid relapse and engage in life fully.

Treating addictions is highly individualized. At Charis we understand that your drug or alcohol problems did not happen on their own. Therefore, we take a holistic approach to treatment encompassing your physical, emotional, familial and spiritual life. We utilize many different approaches, including cognitive behavioral, multidimensional family, and insight oriented therapy. During your treatment progress is continually monitored so adjustments to our approach can be made as needed.

As a family member or loved one of a person with an addiction your life may be in chaos. You may be feeling any number of conflicting emotions. Also, it is often hard to understand where the line is between helping and enabling. Life can become more about coping than actually living.
