Depression, much like anxiety, is a symptom of a greater problem. The symptoms in depression vary greatly from person to person and can include symptoms such as: disrupted sleeping patterns, disordered eating patterns, uncontrollable crying, feeling like you can’t get out of bed, inability to focus and the list can go on and on.
Treating the root cause of the depression is imperative in order to gain freedom from it. It can be difficult, but living with depression is not worth it; it can steal too much of a person’s life. Like anxiety, psychotropic drugs are helpful, but they don’t solve the problem.
Unless the root cause of the depression is dealt with through depression counseling, it can stay with you.
