Julia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience helping individuals and couples achieve greater emotional health and wellbeing. She is a trauma-informed therapist who utilizes a variety of modalities including IFS, EFT, psychotherapy, narrative therapy, somatic practices, and story work to tailor her approach to each client’s unique needs.
When working with individuals, Julia’s approach is holistic. She begins looking at current pain, stress, and anxiety and moves into uncovering the wounds from the past that may be contributing to present struggles. Julia also works with clients on experiencing their emotions in their body, versus intellectualizing them.
Julia’s expertise with couples lies in helping identify their patterns of relating and how their wounds, limitations, and attachment styles may be contributing to their relationship issues. She helps couples move beyond surface-level recurring conflicts to deeper emotional connections that promote lasting, healthy relationships.
As the Co-Owner and Clinical Director at Charis, Julia wears many hats; providing supervision and direction to newer therapists and collaborating with seasoned clinicians who bring a rich understanding of healing to the table. Julia is passionate about creating a warm, safe, healing environment for all of our clients at Charis. She would be honored to work with you as you walk into your own story and move toward healing.
