Now Accepting New Clients!
In the midst of a difficult season of life, Samantha repetitiously asked herself where in the world she could find help. What is counseling? She was eager to find a path toward healing, but was unsure of where she could go. It wasn’t until a dear friend of hers encouraged her to try counseling that she found the bravery to give it a shot.
This counseling journey shaped her in such a way that she, like Fred Rogers suggested, was able to start giving others the gift of her most authentic self. Not only was she personally changed, but she was left relationally longing to help others experience this new way of living. Utilizing her own vulnerability in her counseling practice, she has found joy in helping relieve others’ burdens – burdens too heavy to carry alone. She recognizes that parts of life are unmanageable, lead to dysfunction, and can only be healed through connection with others.
Samantha works out of a trauma-informed and emotionally-focused approach to counseling. She believes that restoration comes from engaging your past in order to bring understanding and healing to your present. Samantha has worked with a variety of clients ranging in ages from early adolescence to later adults, helping them work through multi-variate problems such as depression, anxiety, grief, sexual trauma, self-esteem, relationship issues, and the everyday stress of unexpected life transitions. Samantha also engages in couples counseling and is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator for couples interested in premarital counseling or other Enrich programs.
Born and raised in Orlando, Samantha attended the University of Central Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Development for her undergraduate studies. She then graduated with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. Samantha desires to help her clients envision a personal space of safety and solace, where they will be empowered to act with boldness and experience their most authentic and honest self.
When Samantha isn’t counseling, she is busy keeping up with her son Finley, husband Carter and two playful rescue dogs (Campbell and Winnie). Samantha’s favorite pastime is exploring new coffee shops in the greater Orlando area and spending quality time with family and friends.
