Parker received his MA in counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. He has experience working with adolescents, families, adults, and couples from a wide array of backgrounds, ranging from High School students in the Bronx to juvenile sex offenders at a group home in Massachusetts to distressed families throughout Orlando. He does counseling work in both Spanish and English and has a sensitivity for the particular way culture shapes our identity.
He practices a relational and emotion-focused approach and enjoys working with couples, families, and individuals in the midst of relational distress, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, trauma or addiction, and other issues. Parker believes that because we are most profoundly wounded in the context of relationships, it is in the context of relationship that we are most deeply healed and he places a strong emphasis on safety and trust in the counseling relationship.
Parker received his BA in Creative Writing: Fiction from Northwestern University and loves to play and listen to music. He enjoys good conversations, playing sports or board games with friends, or reading out loud with his beautiful wife, Chelsea.
