Now accepting new clients!
From an early age, I’ve been drawn to people’s stories—their struggles, resilience, and desire for healing and growth. That curiosity and care for others eventually led me to counseling.
I received my Master’s in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL. Before that, I grew up outside Raleigh, NC, graduated from Anderson University in SC, and later moved to Washington, D.C. While there, I worked on Capitol Hill, built training programs for the Coast Guard, and worked in youth development. Ultimately, my time mentoring middle and high school students—along with seeking my own personal counseling—inspired me to pursue counseling full-time.
As a counselor, I deeply value relationship. I believe that through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we can find tools and skills to help ease unwanted symptoms in your life. I also believe real change—both in the heart and the nervous system—happens when a person feels seen and known. My goal is to create a safe space where you can be seen, known, and loved for who you are. When it comes to religion in the counseling room, while I am a Christian, you get to choose whether we integrate faith into our work together.
My approach to therapy is grounded in attachment theory—understanding how your early experiences of safety and connection shape how you relate to yourself and others today. From that foundation, I draw from several approaches to meet your unique needs:
Starting counseling takes courage. It means acknowledging that something in life isn’t working, that you’re curious about your emotions, patterns, or reactions, or that you’re ready for something different. Finding the right counselor can feel overwhelming—it’s hard to know who to trust with your story. The truth is that a successful counseling relationship is a mix of skill, personality, and connection—a bit like dating.
I may or may not be the right fit for you, and that’s okay. My hope is to start gently, get to know your story, and discover what’s best for you—whether that’s working together or helping you find another counselor who’s a better match. Ultimately, our shared goal is that you experience healing, connection, and a more abundant life.
