Mirla holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University.  Mirla believes that everyone has a story to tell.  She understands how living under the weight of unresolved painful childhood experiences, trauma, loss, relationship problems, and stressful life events can be overwhelming, debilitating, and hard to manage. Mirla’s primary focus when meeting with clients is to carefully listen to their story and provide a safe place to begin to unpack the pieces of it that need to be acknowledged and given a voice.  She is a passionate and dedicated mental health professional who endeavors to provide clients with the sensitivity and compassion they need to openly and honestly discuss their struggles without fear of judgement.  Mirla is very intentional in creating a collaborative environment where clients feel heard, supported, and encouraged throughout their therapeutic process.  She believes in equipping clients with information to enhance insight and providing treatment interventions tailored to clients’ individual needs.  Mirla believes in the power of hope and encouragement and likes to remind clients that emotional healing can transform their lives and lead to positive change. She is committed to walking alongside her clients in their journey towards self-discovery, healing, and emotional wellbeing. 

Mirla is a multiculturally competent therapist and is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish.  With more than 25 years of ministerial experience, Mirla also provides a safe space for pastors, missionaries, ministry wives, pastors’ kids, and missionary kids who may be facing challenging issues and feeling isolated and alone. 

Mirla has been married for 37 years and has 4 adult children.  She enjoys interior design as a hobby, drinking a good cup of coffee, and spending quality time with family and friends.
